Aircraft Compliance ("Aircraft Compliance," "we," "us," or "our") is a maintenance and airworthiness recordkeeping service for aircraft owners and operators, provided by Grizzly Mining Company LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to the practices described here.
1.Information we collect
We collect information you provide to us directly, information generated as you use the service, and basic technical information from your device.
- Account information โ your name, email address, and password (stored in encrypted/hashed form) when you create an account.
- Aircraft and maintenance records โ the aircraft, registration (N-number), make/model, inspections, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, squawks, maintenance history, cost entries, and related records you enter or import.
- Uploaded documents and images โ logbook pages, work orders, receipts, and aircraft photos you scan or upload, including any text we extract from them to help organize your records.
- Communications you initiate โ when you email a squawk or report to your mechanic (A&P) through the service, we process the message and recipient address you supply in order to send it.
- Usage and device information โ log data such as your IP address, browser or device type, and the dates, times, and features you use, collected to operate and secure the service.
2.How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the service โ including tracking compliance, generating reports, and syncing your data across your devices.
- To create and secure your account and authenticate you when you sign in.
- To send a squawk or report to a mechanic at your request.
- To respond to your support requests and communicate with you about the service, including important notices.
- To detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or misuse.
- To comply with applicable law.
3.How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited circumstances:
- At your direction โ for example, when you email a squawk or share a report with your mechanic, that information goes to the recipient you choose.
- Service providers โ vendors who help us run the service (such as cloud hosting, email delivery, and, once paid plans launch, payment processing) may process data on our behalf under confidentiality and security obligations. They are permitted to use it only to provide services to us.
- Legal and safety โ when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users, the public, or us.
- Business transfers โ in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred, subject to this Policy.
4.Cookies, local storage & third-party services
We aim to keep tracking to a minimum. We do not use advertising cookies, third-party analytics, or cross-site trackers on this site.
- Local storage (not cookies) โ your browser stores small preferences on your own device, such as your day/night theme and chosen wallpaper, so the site remembers your choices on your next visit. This data stays in your browser and is not transmitted to us.
- Essential cookies โ once sign-in is enabled, we use a strictly necessary session cookie to keep you logged in securely. It is not used for advertising or tracking.
- Fonts served from our own servers โ we self-host our typefaces rather than loading them from a third-party font network, so visiting these pages does not share your IP address with an outside font provider.
- Map imagery โ the background charts shown in the app are public-domain FAA sectional imagery; we do not embed third-party mapping services.
- Service providers we rely on โ to run the service we use vendors for cloud hosting and infrastructure, email delivery (including sending a squawk to your mechanic at your request), document text recognition for scanned logbook pages, and, once paid plans launch, payment processing. These providers process data only to perform services for us, under contractual confidentiality and security obligations, and may include providers such as Google (for example, email or cloud services). We update this list as our providers are finalized before launch.
5.Data retention
We keep your account and records for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see "Your choices" below). We may retain limited information as required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
6.Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption of passwords and encrypted connections (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7.Your choices and rights
- Access and update โ you can view and edit most of your information directly within the app.
- Deletion โ you may request that we delete your account and associated data by contacting us at the address below.
- Communications โ you can opt out of non-essential emails; we may still send you service-related messages.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws (such as the right to access, correct, delete, or port your information). To exercise any right, contact us using the details in Section 10.
8.Children's privacy
The service is intended for aircraft owners and operators and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9.Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Policy.
